Biden to meet with Adams in NYC next week to discuss anti-crime plan

Biden and Adams will meet roughly two weeks after the New York City mayor unveiled his anti-crime plan for the five boroughs, which focuses on intervention and prevention tactics.

Adams said his plan will focus on 30 precincts throughout the city where 80% of violence occurs. Those precincts will have enhanced Public Safety Units and additional Neighborhood Safety Teams, which are expected to roll out sometime in February.

In an interview with 1010 WINS Tuesday, Adams elaborated on his plan, stressing that it was not going to “be abusive to any New Yorkers in general, specifically to Black and Brown men.”

He added that his plan will also provide greater support to NYPD officers, who have been frequent targets of abuse on New York City streets.

This will not be the first time that Biden and Adams meet to discuss crime rates in New York City.

The two also spoke in July 2021, when Adams was still a candidate for mayor, along with various other political leaders from several major U.S. cities.
